Facebook.com

Yep...I'm a member. Gee whiz. They just keep coming up with stuff to "stay connected", don't they?! I'm known as Dena Thompson-Chancellor on there.

There's something I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around: if you "stay connected" and comment on everyone's "Facebook Wall", and then "stay connected" and comment on everyone's blog, and yes...again for MySpace, PLUS update your own pages with pictures and videos and responses to comments and interesting posts, do you honestly have the time to "stay connected" about stuff that's happening in your real life? Because, if I'm thinking this thru completely, with all the time it takes to be a mom and wife and employee, my posts or comments are probably going to sound something like:

"Today, I went to work, I wrote on Tanya's Wall, and told Rosalynda how adorable her babies are, and I searched for new friends, invited new friends, accepted invitations to be a new friend, checked my blog to see if there were any comments, commented on how cute Maury's kiddos and Debbi's & Sarah's babies are, checked every one's blog, did a tiny bit of work and I drove home, ran some errands, washed clothes, cooked (or picked up) dinner, played with Braiden, fed Braiden, washed Braiden and then went to sleep...only to get up tomorrow and do it all again!"

I hope that's not how future posts to my blog are going to sound! I'm going to try seriously hard to devote certain times of the day...and certain days...to post, comment, and write on walls! WOW! I remember when you picked up the phone and called someone that you wanted to "stay connected" with!!!

...and after saying all of that, I'm still very siked that I have all these new ways to keep up with old friends!!!!! HA! It's such a twisted, vicious circle!!!!!!

I know how you feel! I don't have a lot of time to keep everyone updated on all 3 of my networking sites... just too much to do! However, I do still find time to TRY and read everyone's... although I may not comment!

I totally know! Facebook is slightly overwhelming when you first get on, but it calms down after awhile and now I only get on when I get a message in my email telling me someone wrote on my wall, invited me as a friend etc. and then once I'm on I'll catch up on whoever I need to :) That way I don't spend too much time on there. And with blogging Google Reader helps tons with making the most of my "blog time" :) I totally recommend it :)

I'm with Sarah, I use google reader and it helps a TON, I have facebook only to find people, I perfer it to myspace 100% - it's crazy how many things they will find to keep us all connected but at least it works, I love finding old friends...just this weekend I found 2 old friends from our UofU days and one is living in Turkey while her husband is working at a medical practice over there saving kids! crazy stuff you learn about people!

DITTO!!! I feel the same way, it feels overwhelming sometimes trying to keep up with it all. Someone told me I should join Facebook the other day, but I just think I have too much to keep up with!
