His hair. It's been a mess from the day he entered this earth.
We've had his bangs trimmed out of his eyes twice since January 1, 2008. But, we never dared to cut the body and length of his beautiful, curly, little boy hair...that is... until Saturday.
Forgive me for waxing dramatic - On July 26, 2008, high noon, Brian, Braiden & I drove the 2 miles down the well paved, landscaped street from our home in Hayley Heights to Aspire Salon on Country Club Boulevard in Maumelle. It was a hot, weary day. One that would take your breath with just a short trek to the car.
Just an hour before, I washed his beautiful locks and stared at it's length and weight, stretching nearly to his little waistband when wet. His dad and I took pictures. One right after the other, hoping to capture a commemorative still of what would soon be leaving us. This was hard. Those little strands had been with us since the day he was born. Contrary to popular belief from family members on the fraternal side, he never lost a stitch of his hair from birth ... ... ah hem... ... he's just like his momma! (insert a slight chuckle here).
(this picture was a bit fuzzy...sorry)
He was tired and cranky that day. He sits and waits as best he can as an 18 month old little boy.
Then...we sit in the chair.
We wear the cape.
We're tired of the cape. And need a sippy cup to sooth us.
We now find it impossible to sit in the chair without momma's help.
Two + inches later, we celebrate by going to Cheeburger Cheeburger!!

What a stud! He looks like he did great and I love your narrative of the account. I still remember Gage's first hair cut, it broke my heart - and he doesn't have the hair that Braiden has! I think it's fine when they fuss - each time Gage still screams during a hair cut we tell him the story of Samson - he thinks that is great. hahaa!
Your hair looks great and you look hot! Is that diet still working? - it looks like it!
You're absolutely precious, Debbi!! But, yeah...I know I am. KIDDING!!!!! :o) Thank you SO much for commenting about me...or the less of me!! :o)

Dena, your hair is so cute, and you look GREAT!!! I know you feel awesome. I would love to hear an update on how much you have lost, and how it has affected your health....(I need some motivation here!) I am so proud of you!
Girl, I hope you guys have a wonderful beach trip...can't wait to hear all about it and see lots of pictures!! Be safe!!
You are beautiful Dena, inside and out. Your comments always get me really deep. You go around leaving comments that just make me (and probably others) feel so good about themselves. That is a talent, to know how to compliment. And I really thank you for that. And for being so friendly. And making me feel so good all the time. As a woman, I get down on myself just like anyone and some days are gloomy.. and I love hearing from sunshiney Dena. Always a pleasure. Your baby's haircut passes my inspection-- not too short!
Your hair is so cute and your face shows all the beauty and joy that a mother has for her son!
